Leona Lasse

GradDipPsych, M.Rehab Counselling, M.Couple & Family Therapy
Trained “Prepare” Facillitator

Leona has over 15 years experience working in the field of mental health, with a range of clients including individuals, couples and families. Her initial experience working in a Psychiatric hospital gave her a solid foundation in mental health, psychiatric illness and the impact of this on both the individual and those around them.

“Whatever your individual needs, therapy can provide a confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences and develop the tools you need to thrive”.

Leona has worked in a diverse range of fields within the sector such as homelessness, inpatient psychiatric and vocational rehabilitation settings, non-government organisations and private practice. These settings have allowed for experience in working with a broad range of psychological difficulties and struggles.

Over the past 13 years Leona has worked as a therapist for individuals, couples and families.

Her particular areas of interest and expertise are in working with anxiety, depression, stress, feeling stuck or dissatisfied, trauma, loss, adult ADHD, adjustment issues, communication difficulties, infidelity, conflict, separation, parenting and other relational concerns.

Leona works in an integrative way, combining multiple
therapeutic modalities, in a way that suits her client’s needs.

Leona seeks to understand each unique client and develop a trusting, collaborative therapeutic relationship with them. In working with clients Leona often explores family of origin histories, looks at uncovering unhelpful patterns and how to change them and works through the impact of traumas. Her focus is on healing, reconnection and assisting clients to work through their issues in a gentle but systematic way, in order to improve or enhance their relationships with themselves and others.

Leona is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPI).
